Police Scotland are calling for witnesses following a collision in Howgate, near Penicuik, that left one dead and another injured.
Emergency services were called to Howgate Village on the A6094 at approximately 3:40pm on Saturday 29 October. Fire crews, the Ambulance service and Police attended.
At the scene, a red Citroen Berlingo van had struck a dry stone wall and overturned.
The 47 year old male driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His 14 year old male passenger was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary as a precaution.
The road was closed for nearly five hours, until 8:30pm, to allow for investigations into the accident to be undertaken.

Inquiries into this collision continue and our sincere condolences remain with the family of the driver at this very difficult time.
We’ve spoken to a number of people so far but anyone who witnessed this and who has not yet been in touch is urged to come forward.
