A lone motorcyclist has been injured on a busy link road in Penicuik.
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service were called to Mauricewood Road, in the north west of the town, on Saturday morning following a motorcycle collision.
The emergency services arrived on the scene at 6am on Saturday 6 June, where they found a motorcyclist who had been involved in a accident involving no other vehicles.
It is believed the male collided with an obstacle on or by the road whilst travelling southbound towards the A701, subsequently sustaining head injuries. A sign indicating the change in speed limits was later removed.
Police Sergeant Vincent Fisher said:
We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the motorcyclist around that time.
He is described as in his early 20’s, 5ft 7in tall with short light brown or fair hair. He was wearing jeans and dark coloured bomber jacket.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on the non-emergency number 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
