Police Scotland are urgently trying to trace a woman after concern was raised about her wellbeing on Sunday morning.

Officers are seeking help in tracing a woman, believed to be in early sixties, after she was spotted in her pyjamas by a roundabout near McDonalds in Loanhead at 5am on Sunday 15 October.

The apparently distressed lady, then boarded a Lothian 37 bus to Penicuik, alighting outside Tesco on Edinburgh Road at 5:30am. She was last seen heading in the direction of Eastfield Drive or Yarrow Court. Following her encounters with the public and bus driver, the Police quickly sought to trace the female.

She is described as being white with dyed blonde hair, wearing a black jacket over pyjamas. She was also barefoot.

Inspector Wendy Neilson of Dalkeith Police Station said:

We are very concerned for this woman’s welfare and we are eager to trace her whereabouts.

I would ask anyone who was in the Penicuik or Loanhead areas in the early morning of Sunday, October 15, and recognises the woman’s description, to get in touch with us as soon as possible

I would also encourage the woman in question to make contact with police and let us know she’s okay.

Police Scotland ask that anyone who may have seen the woman, or believes to know who she is, contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 1109 of October 15.
