Residents throughout Penicuik and district can rejoice after a young male was arrested for six high profile local housebreakings.
Police Scotland have apprehended, arrested and charged a twenty year old man for allegedly carrying out over fifty offences throughout the Lothians, including six large thefts in Penicuik. The young male was traced to a property in the Ferry Road area in Edinburgh on Tuesday 11 November, appearing in Edinburgh Sheriff Court the following day, where he was remanded in custody.
The male is facing many charges for the theft of items such like jewellery, electrical items and vehicles. Six of these crimes where carried out in Penicuik. He will come before the court next month.
Inspector John Dryden said:
This arrest will bring a degree of relief to the local community in Penicuik. This man was a prolific thief in the Lothians and his crimes have caused much distress to the people of Midlothian and beyond. We are extremely pleased to see him finally brought to justice.
