Penicuik’s oldest high school is celebrating its 75th anniversary today by opening its doors to the public.
Today the public are welcome to come to the school between 9am and 3pm to get guided tours along with a drink in the café. A hall of memories can also be found in which residents across Penicuik have given the school old photos from their school years. Films and playground games can also be watched.
To commemorate their diamond anniversary, they will name their science and technology block after local Sir James Hamilton, the person who helped to design the delta wing for Concorde. Sir James Hamilton died last year at the age of 89.
