Jack & Jill Market To Return To Edinburgh

A popular baby and child market is set to return to Edinburgh in June, in what promises to be a great day out for bargains.

The Jack & Jill Market is Scotland’s quality nearly new baby & kids market in which savvy parents can sell their used, much loved, children’s clothes and toys to new parents who wish to pick up a quality bargain. Some parents have even made up to £800.

The hugely popular markets, which feature between forty and sixty stalls, have been held in Edinburgh many times but now the not-for-profit organisation will be running two markets, one in the west of Edinburgh and one in the east.

Their first market will be held in Heriott Watt University on Saturday 8 June from 10:30am until 1:30pm with an admission fee of only one pound per adult. Cathy Uttley, Marketing and Events Manager for Jack & Jill Markets, promises us a great day out:

I never cease to be amazed by the huge range of fantastic gear and it’s all on offer at a fraction of retail prices.  You can pick up everything you need without breaking the bank and in the knowledge that you’re doing your bit for the environment.

It is only the second time that this venue has been used by the organisation, with their first being in March. Cathy told us how successful the new venue had been:

It was a great market and the feedback we received from stallholders and shoppers was just fantastic. It’s a stunning venue in a prime location and it was great to see busy parents take five minutes to examine their purchases, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a well deserved coffee in the on site café.

Their other venue is Meadowbank Stadium, which is now used to holding the popular markets. Its market will take place at the same time as the Heriott Watt event however it will be on Saturday 23 June. It will also cost one pound for admission.

If you’re looking for a great bargain, or even a fun day out, make sure you attend one of the events. Go on the venues are only twenty minutes away.
