Teenage Girls Indecently Assaulted in Penicuik

Investigations are underway after an indecent assault on two teenage girls near Deanburn, Penicuik, yesterday.

The incident occurred in woodland off Rullion Road in the Deanburn area of the town at around 3:15pm on Thursday 20 July.

Two teenage girls, both aged 14, were walking through the woodland when a man passed and inappropriately touched one of them.

The perpetrator is understood to be of a tanned complexion, in his late thirties or forties, of heavy build and with dark messy hair and a beard. He was wearing a green and brown striped jumper with bootcut jeans and dark footwear. His hair and clothing were covered in dust or mud.

Sergeant Michele Lindsay of Penicuik said:

As part of our ongoing inquiries we’re asking anyone who may have seen the man in the area, or who recognises his description, to come forward. Likewise, I would urge anyone who may have information about this incident to contact us.
