A twenty-five year old male has been robbed at knifepoint in Penicuik after withdrawing money from an ATM at the Post Office.
The incident occurred around 11:30pm on Tuesday (28 May) on a pathway to the rear of Windsor Drive. The young male had withdrawn a three figure sum from the Post Office’s ATM when he was approached. After being threatened at knifepoint, the victim handed over his money. His assailant then made off towards Eastfield.
The suspect is described as white, in his late 20s, skinny build, with facial stubble, and wearing a grey hooded top and navy blue trousers.
A Police spokesman said:
The victim was not injured during this incident, but was understandably distressed at the theft of his money.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and remembers seeing anything suspicious should contact police immediately.
Similarly, anyone who recognises the description of the suspect, or who has other information relevant to this enquiry should also get in touch.
