Penicuik’s Hunter & Lass festival organisers have opened the nomination process for the new year and are looking for the next proud local to take the reigns.

Salsa Porteous and Daren Cogdan’s year of festivities is coming to end as the process starts again to find a new Hunter and Lass for the festival in May culminating in Penicuik on Parade on Saturday 24 or 31 May (pending official date).

Nominations can now be submitted to the committee via a form (which can be downloaded here) by Friday 28 February with interviews commencing on Sunday 2 March.

The organisers are looking for two friendly, fun locals with an interest in the town who will be face of Penicuik at forthcoming rideouts and events from May. Applicants must be 18 or older and horse riding experience is not required as it will be provided.

You can be nominated by friends or family and both individual and couple entries are accepted.
